How to resolve missing EEP Code requests Print

Why Didn’t I Receive My EPP Code?

If you requested your domain’s EPP (Authorization) code but did not receive it, your domain may be under a 60-day transfer lock.

What is the Transfer Lock?

The Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy (IRTP) is an ICANN rule that places a 60-day restriction on transferring a domain to another registrar whenever certain updates are made to your registration details.

This lock is automatically triggered if you change:

  • The registrant’s name

  • The organization listed on the domain

  • The registrant’s email address

Because the EPP code is required for transfers, the system will not issue or send the code while this lock is active.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • You can continue to manage your domain (renewals, DNS, hosting) as normal.

  • You will need to wait until the 60-day period has passed before you can receive the EPP code and transfer your domain.

  • Once applied, this lock cannot be removed. Some registrars allow opting out before making changes, but not afterward.

When Will I Get My EPP Code?

The EPP code will become available automatically once the 60-day lock expires. At that time, you can request it again and proceed with your transfer.
